In cases where a collection’s record review policy has been set to require review and its record submission policy has been set to “Open,” the following process applies and :
A submitter prepares a new record, selects the collection in question (with the “Select a collection”) button at the top of the deposit form, and then clicks the blue “Submit for Review” button:
The submitter is then presented with two checkboxes
One confirming that curators will have access to view and edit the record’s metadata and files
Another confirming that acceptance will result in immediate publication in the collection (after which time the submitter will no longer be able to modify metadata and files for this record).
The submitter is also presented with an opportunity to send the curators and optional message:
Next, all collection members with the “Curator,” “Manager,” or "Owner” role will receive an email notification informing them that a new submission is available for review, including a direct link to the request.
Each submission under review includes a "Conversation" tab, where the submitter and curator can discuss any issues, necessary changes, etc. Multiple curators can participate in the conversation simultaneously (all participants will receive email updates as new comments are made:
Each submission under review also includes a “Record” tab, where curators can review metadata and files for completeness, accuracy, relevance, etc. They can make edits to the submission metadata and/or files, and when they’ve reached a decision, they can accept or reject the submission by clicking the green “Accept and publish” button or the red “Decline” button:
